Did you know that march is National Red Cross Month?  The Red Cross was officially declared as Red Cross Month in 1943 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as a way to raise awareness of the organization and its humanitarian mission in the midst of war.

There are different areas of the Red Cross that help people during times of need.

One area is to donate funds which provides food, shelter, emotional support and other necessities to those that have been affected by a disaster. The Red Cross also helps people every day not just after a disaster within the United States as well as Internationally.

You can donate blood, which in return can save lives and it feels good knowing you’re helping another human being.  A lot of people don’t think about how their donated blood can help and one day you might need it yourself.

You can become a volunteer, the Red Cross is always in need of new volunteers.  Volunteer in your community, be a blood drive volunteer, become an advocate using social media or become a board member sharing your knowledge and resources to share.

With the Red Cross you can get training and certified in CPR, babysitting, first aid and more.

If you’re associated with a group, company or an individual wanting to make a difference, Quebec Place at Fairmount is the perfect setting for hosting your fundraising event.  Call 303-617-9596 to schedule a time to discuss your event.
